Mesotherapy London

Mesotherapy was originally pioneered by the French physician, Dr. Michel Pistor in 1945. It involves injecting small amounts of homeopathic medicine beneath the surface of the skin to break down cellulite and to improve circulation. The addition of Vitamin C to the mixture encourages the tone and quality of the overlying skin.

Treatment may be carried out immediately after initial consultation at which point you will be informed as to how many treatments you will require. Mesotherapy is performed once or twice a week over a period of 4 to 8 weeks. In London we recommend Mesotherapy for all types of cellulite.

How Does Mesotherapy Work?

Mesotherapy melts the fat in the skin and breaks up the network of connective tissue fibre that form trapping fat cells and resulting in cellulite. The medicine is injected into the cellulite or fatty tissue to improve circulation of lymphatic and venous drainage by increasing metabolism of the injected area. The fat dissolves and, as occurs when fat is broken down during typical weight loss is carried through the bloodstream and excreted by kidneys and bowel. Therefore, very little, if any medicine reaches the general circulation and in any cases the level is so low that it has no effect on the rest of the body.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

A common side effect of Mesotherapy is bruising, which generally resolves after a week. Mezoterapia can be a little uncomfortable, but not painful. It is best to avoid contact with the sun directly after the treatment as this may produce pigmentation.

Before the treatment

  • Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before the treatment.
  • Avoid taking Aspirin or anti-inflammatory for 3 days before the treatment.
  • Should you bruise easily we recommend taking Arnica tablets 7 days prior to treatment.
  • Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration.
  • Eat some solid food before you come for the treatment.
