The laser is one of the world’s most advanced treatments for the effective reduction of unwanted hair.
Offers dramatic improvements for women and men of all skin types and all skin tones.
Suitable for sensitive skin, but not darker skin types.
Understanding laser permanent hair reduction systems.
A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. Different types of laser produce different colours of light. The colour of light produced by a particular laser is the key to its effective on hair follicles. The pigment located in hair follicles absorbs the light emitted by the laser. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just enough to vaporise the pigment, disabling several follicles at a time or significantly impede the hair’s re-growth.
Usually between 6-8 treatments over 6-8 week period are needed to give you smooth, hair free skin. The exact number of treatments will depend on the thickness of the hair, the area treated and the current growth cycle of individual hairs. In any area, hairs that are actively growing are most affected by laser, while hairs that are regressing or dormant will be less affected and may need additional treatments. After treatment, you may experience what appears to be a re-growth of hair; in fact, this is hair being shed as a result of the treatment. You should not wax or pluck your hair at this stage, though shaving is acceptable.
Possibly the best laser hair removal system available; it is safe and effective on every part of the body, even for highly sensitive areas such as the nipples and bikini.
What you can expect
The length of a laser session may be a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the area treated. Because the laser tends to treat hair follicles that are in an active growth phase, more than one treatment may be required. The laser treatment itself can cause a slightly tingling sensation. Most patients tolerate the procedure well. But because some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, topical anaesthesia is available.
The appearance of the treated area immediately after a laser session will vary from patient to patient, depending on the extent of treatment. Immediate after-effects, if any, are minor. They may include redness and swelling, which disappear in a short time.
